BTC today announced the appointment of veteran broadcast journalist Jerome Sawyer to its senior management team.
“We are excited to have someone as qualified and experienced as Jerome Sawyer join our team as part of our ongoing commitment to recruiting the best local talent to become a part of the BTC family,” said BTC CEO Houston.
Sawyer, whose appointment is effective April 17, will serve as Senior Manager, Public Relations. managing BTC’s internal and external communications as well as the company’s civic involvement in the community.
He will report to Marlon Johnson, Vice President, Brand & Communications “Jerome has a wealth of experience with the local and international media which will be helpful as we work to keep our thousands of customers informed about the evolution of our products and services, no matter where they live in The Bahamas,” said Johnson.
“We see Jerome and his wealth of experience and knowledge about the Bahamas as a key component to solidifying our presence in the market and to ensuring that our message is delivered effectively and efficiently. Similarly, the company is keen to ensure that it builds and maintains strong channels for internal communications among BTC team members.”
Mr. Sawyer’s responsibilities will involve the development of innovative strategies to keep the local and international media aware of innovations and advancements in telecommunications services at BTC. Sawyer is also going to be involved in the company’s role as corporate citizen, overseeing BTC’s “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) program.
