It is the press that has allowed local businessman Jeff Butler to write long letters for publication taking on companies and seemingly defending his right to live by his own rules.
It is the press, the lazy press, that took Jeff Butler’s views as a disgruntled tenant and made it a headline story without thorough investigative reporting.
And now the man who has had former employees publicly begging for justice and suppliers reportedly chasing dreams, is at it again selling himself as the good corporate citizen.
The media seems hooked on Butler and the Department of Labour and the courts have yet, in my opinion, to deal with Jeff Butler quick and tough enough.
For all his public crying and countless Bahamian flags waving at his business site, Jeff Butler, from my observation, has operated in a selfish manner and continues to be protected.
I am pleased persons have found the courage to speak out against him. I hope the Government, the Grand Bahama Port Authority, and the media would handle Jeff Butler like every other Bahamian business person.
From where I sit, one man has gotten away with too much and cried wolf too many times. Enough is enough.
