A veteran Bahamian hotelier is the new General Manager of the popular Comfort Suites Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas.
Earle Bethell, a native of the Bahamas with almost three decades in hotel management, was recently appointed by managing partner William Naughton who described the placement “as an opportunity to elevate the level of service excellence at the property as it continues an aggressive renovations program.”
Bethell’s wealth of hotel industry knowledge was amassed from experience in positions from the front office and hotel operations to executive level management.
A dedicated community man, Bethell also served on the board of the Caribbean Hotel Association, as president of the Bahamas Hotel Association, director of the Cable Beach Resort Association as well as the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board among many other professional and civic duties.
“I treasure this opportunity to lead an already vibrant management team,” said Bethell, who previously served as General Manager of both the Nassau Beach Hotel and Wyndham Hotel.
Also moving up the corporate ladder at the resort is local Bahamian Shantillya Sands who has been appointed Director of Sales after 10 years at the neighboring Atlantis Paradise Island resort.
The Atlantis resort, right next door, remains a major draw, since Comfort Suites guests can enjoy full use of all their facilities, including swimming pools, the beach, magnificent waterscapes, Lazy River Ride, water slides, health spa, tennis, and a kids camp. Comfort Suites guests also have full signing privileges at Atlantis’ restaurants and lounges.
Comfort Suites Paradise Island is currently completing a US$3 million refurbishment program, and an intense customer service training agenda. “We have a new, fresh product which offers one of the greater value propositions in the Bahamas,” Sands said.
The resort recently received TripAdvisor’s prestigious 2012 Certificate of Excellence award.
