The Bahamas unveiled its new tourism commercial after Super Bowl halftime. The multimillion-dollar spot was entitled “Behold” and featured former Los Angeles Lakers star Rick Fox, who grew up in the Bahamas; illusionist David Copperfield and Bahamian model Shakara Ledard.
“Behold, water so blue it seems to merge with the sky above,” says the narrator as a seaplane flies over the crystalline Bahamian waters and Shakara emerges from the ocean. “Behold, natural beauty that soars above the sea and plunges far below” says the voice as Rick Fox dives from a sailboat taking viewers under the water with him.
“Behold smiles so wide they seem to stretch from the top of Little Abaco to the base of Great Inagua,” the narrator says. “Behold, the Islands of the Bahamas.”
The commercial focuses on the Family Islands or Out Islands rather than the main tourist hubs of New Providence and Paradise Island.
