Family Shocked Over Father’s Suicide

Jamal Kemp, 31, reportedly shot himself in the head at his home in the Perpall Track area. He was the father of two young children – a four-year-old girl and a boy, aged three.

His family was shocked. His wife told the Big T that he was under a lot of stress, working two jobs at Compass Point Resort and Albany’s Footprints restaurant.

Police inspector Chrislyn Skippings pleaded with members of the public to seek help if feeling stressed.

“We have the community counselling assessment centre, we have the crisis centre, you have pastors, you have guidance counsellors, you have family members, there may be other persons in society who you look up to who can provide you with the needed advice that can help you through this time.
