A family fun day and an open house at the popular Town Centre Shops at Old Fort Bay seemed to bring out the kid in everyone attending the Easter Saturday party celebrations.
The New Providence Development Company (NPDCo) held an Easter Family Fun Day for new and existing customers to enjoy shopping specials at the Town Centre stores and Easter festivities.
The Town Centre is anchored by the successful Solomon’s Fresh Market, the soon to be opened Royal Bank of Canada and the development of a new Meridian School still in the planning stages but set to open as Old Fort Preparatory School in 2014.
A Real Estate booth provided information on the commercial opportunities at the Old Fort Bay Town Centre which included 2nd floor offices overlooking the picturesque Town Centre square and fountains.
“We are now leasing and selling office space and are seeing increased interest from downtown businesses wishing to re-locate west or have satellite offices out west,” said New Providence Development’s VP of Real Estate, Jane-Michele Bethel. DJ MayDay provided the music and periodically, dancing broke-out between the Keg Ranch wine tent, nutritional power house Liquid Nutrition and Solomon’s Fresh Market tasting tent.
Solomon’s also had food tastings in their Deli. Occasionally a glimpse would be caught of a large Easter Bunny, courtesy of maternity central, ‘Bun in The Oven’ and squeals of delight would ricochet around the square. And amidst the abundance of chocolate cream filled eggs and brightly coloured jellybeans, a long line formed for the ‘Seahorse’ tent where artful face painting, animal-shaped balloons and glitter ‘tattoos’ captivated.
The youngsters were enthralled, kept busy building edible bird’s nests and prettily painting hard boiled eggs at Solomon’s craft tent, the girls cute as buttons in their best Easter pastels of lemon-chiffon and pretty-in-pink. While staff from the Sushi Rokkan Japanese restaurant mingled with refreshing Sake Punch samples Benetton wooed the ladies and His Fashion accessorized the men. It was a happy time.
No Easter Bunnies for sale at Happy Pets but 6 of the most adorable, warm and snugly puppies right outside Dr. Robert Allen’s vetenary clinic! Only Anthony ‘Big Mo’ Morley’s Gallery of his exquisite art and his larger than life personality could hope to compete!
The cool beauty and serenity of the Dermalogica skincare centre worked its soothing magic along with the deliciously tiny chocolate eggs in colourful foils. And eye candy greeted shoppers in The Island Store renowned for its exceptional collections of all things beautiful.
Yes, you will find that gift and plenty of everything else for your home plus the best collection of the most fabulous coffee table books anywhere in the country. Sat Sound was busy demonstrating its popular turn-key solution to in-home entertainment – a seductive Wi-Fi wrap-around sound system and big screen television delivered and installed to order!
And already known for their beautiful indoor and outdoor furniture and accessories, and classic collections from Ralph Lauren Home, the Bahamas Design Centre West was hitting the right note and wooing local residents and home owners. Jane Michele Bethel, NPDCo VP Real Estate said it was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces at the Easter event.
“Everything is moving so fast here that it was nice for me to spend some time and meet and greet our customers, clients and prospective tenants,” she said. “Eighty-five percent (85%) of the retail space at the Town Centre is leased but there are still opportunities for expansion to meet the growth demand that the location is igniting.”
