A policeman, Corporal Trevor Cox has been charged in connection with the beating of a detainee. Pictures of the victim’s bruised buttocks were posted on Rodney Moncur’s Facebook page during the Easter holidays.
It is claimed that Cox caused unlawful harm to Dean while he was at the Grove Police Station.
Cox, who has not been dismissed from the force, was granted $3,000 bail with two sureties. His trial will start on April 26.
Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade has threatened that the person responsible for posting the photos will be charged.
