The investigation into a St. Catharines couple’s traffic death in The Bahamas one week ago Thursday is ongoing, police on the islands say.
Jill and Ron Gandza were killed April 25 when they were walking along Queens Highway shortly after 10 p.m. and were struck by a car.
Ron Gandza, a 57-year-old General Motors worker, was killed on scene and his wife Jill, a 55-year-old retired nurse, died at a local clinic.
Royal Bahamas Police Force spokeswoman Insp. Chrislyn Skippings said the matter was still being investigated Wednesday and she had no new information.
However, Insp. Harry Williams from the traffic division told the Nassau-based newspaper The Tribune that police did not expect anyone would be charged.
