On Tuesday, July 9, the U.S. State Department’s Director of Caribbean Affairs, Western Hemisphere Affairs Division, Juan Alsace and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires John Dinkelman will visit the College of The Bahamas (COB) to meet with Dr. Betsy Vogel-Boze, COB President where they will participate in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish an “American Space” (AS) at the Harry C. Moore Library.
The establishment of an “American Space” was made possible through a $23,000 grant for multimedia equipment and printed resources from the U.S. Government. The “American Space” program is a U.S. Department of State-sponsored worldwide initiative. There are more than 800 Spaces all around the world under the program.
The MOU signing, will, in a tangible way, serve to highlight ongoing efforts to strengthen the bridges of understanding between the American people and their Bahamian neighbors and underscores the closeness of our longstanding bilateral relationship as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas celebrates its 40th year as an independent nation.
