Once again, the Bahamas Humane Society has several events coming up.
Friday, September 27 is the unveiling of the winners of the 2013 Summer Fun Photography Contest. Join us at 6:00 p.m. at the New Providence Community Church on Blake Road for the announcement of the winners. There will be light snacks and a cash bar. Bahamas Humane Society merchandise available.
This Sunday is the annual Blessing of the Animals at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church in Lyford Cay. This service is usually held in conjunction with St. Francis of Assisi Day but will be a week early this year. Join us at 4:00 p.m. with your pets.
From October 1st to 7th, the BHS will be offering “Certified, Pre-Owned Cats” for $15.
These cuties come with their first shots and are already spayed or neutered. For a $30 fee, you will also receive a cat adoption starter kit, which includes a litter tray, some kitty litter, a bowl, some cat chow, and a litter scoop. (Starter kits are normally $25.)
On Sunday, October 6th, there will be a Scavenger Hunt to raise money for the BHS spay & neuter programs. This event kicks off at 1:00 p.m. from the Green Parrot, Nassau side, and is sure to be a blast for all involved. Teams may have up to 5 people and the cost is $10 per person. The BHS Membership Drive 2013 has begun! “Put your best paw forward! Become a member today!” As the Bahamas Humane Society heads into our 90th year, they’d like to do so with a strong membership base. The Bahamas Humane Society encourages members to ask 10 or more of your friends, family, coworkers to join. If you are not yet a member, please join and see if you can bring along 5 new people.
November is a busy month as the Bahamas Humane Societyll! The Jollification (22nd – 24th), the Cole’s of Nassau Fashion Show (26th) and the Great Gatsby Party (30th) will all be sure to keep you busy helping the animals and enjoying the festive season.
