Four people are believed to have died when the small plane they were in went down in waters seven miles off Grand Bahama.
The crash is said to have occurred shortly after 11:00am Sunday morning.
Police were putting together a team to head out to the scene of the crash.
Although the aircraft has been located, Supt Stephen Dean said they do not believe any bodies have been located at this time.
The aircraft was a small plane being used for “sightseeing” – according to police.
