The Progressive Liberal Party government in its current tenure had several main goals it had set out to accomplish after winning the election: (1) Implement VAT, which will crush the poor and needy; (2) regulate the numbers industry, which will benefit the wealthy numbers men and their cronies; (3) pass the stem cells legislation, which is to the benefit of billionaire Peter Nygard; and (4) find more ways to idolize the country’s first PM, Sir Lynden O Pindling.
A $75,000 contract was signed for the construction of a statue in commemoration of Pindling. The statue will be situated near the entrance of the Lynden Pindling International Airport.
This government renamed the airport after Pindling in 2006. Majority Rule Day was made a national holiday by the Progressive Liberal Party in 2013, a little over 46 years since January 10, 1967.
Pindling was not the only one who had a hand in the events leading up to and culminating in majority rule, but you would never know this by the way Pingdomites talk.
Nor was he the only one deserving of credit for Independence or Black Tuesday or woman suffrage or the financial and tourism industries. The Whistleblower cannot think of a single industry the father of the nation created. Not one.
The Whistleblower understands that a room at the College of the Bahamas was named after Pindling some months ago. The government wants to Pindlingise everything. A $400 million airport has been named in his honour; as well as a private housing subdivision. In addition to these honours, his image graces our dollar notes.
Pindling was born on March 22, 1930. Mark my words: The Progressive Liberal Party will one day make that date a national holiday. It will be called Pindling’s Day, and it will be an emulation of the US holiday President’s Day, which is observed in February in honour of George Washington. This will be in keeping with the Progressive Liberal Party’s ambitious Pindlingisation agenda.
