The country’s premier youth achievement programme, the Governor General’s Youth Award kicked off its Pearl Anniversary with a church service Sunday, January 22, at Christ Church Cathedral on George Street.
A select group of 30, comprised of members of the board, management council, volunteers and participants of the 30-year-old programme were in attendance.
A prevention programme for youths, GGYA has helped to transform the lives of 10,000 participants since its launch in 1987.
The Award programme is open to persons age 14 to 24. It helps youths and young adults develop vital skills for life and for work, including confidence, commitment, conflict resolution, problem solving skills and resilience.
