A gang of men accosted Grand Bahama police as they attempted to arrest a suspect on Bruce Avenue around 3:00pm on Saturday.
The officers approached the suspect and conducted a body search, at which time they discovered suspected marijuana, a handgun and ammunition.
Before the officers could make the arrest a group of men assaulted them leading to the escape of the suspect.
