Florida University To Launch Recruitment & Scholarship Tour in Nassau

MIAMI GARDENS, FL [September 20, 2011] – Dr. Henry Lewis III, the newly elected president of Florida Memorial University, is inviting students from the Bahamas to get their education at South Florida’s only historically black university. The Presidential Recruitment and Scholarship Tour is designed to attract and provide scholarships to new students. The tour which marks Dr. Lewis’ first recruitment initiative as FMU’s president begins Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

“Florida Memorial University provides a world-class education for all of our students,” Lewis said. “We are committed to ensuring that our students are able to compete on the world stage.”

During the tour, Dr. Lewis and university officials will engage Bahamian Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes; Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert A. Ingraham; Bahamian Education Minister Desmond Bannister; and officials from the Bahamas National Baptist Convention. The president will meet with perspective students, local alumni and give scholarships.

The tour concludes with a Recruitment Fair at the Sheraton Beach Casino and Resort, Independence Ball Room C, Cable Beach, Nassau, on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 9:30 am. For more information contact Zachary Rinkins at 305-626-3624.
