A few days ago $1 million worth of cocaine was seized in Freeport during a drug bust. During the Magistrate’s Court arraignment of Ronald Joseph and Aline Pierre in connection with the drug haul concerns were raised over the security of the seizure.
The Defence attorney Dion Smith said that although it would be more convenient to hear the case in Grand Bahama where the witnesses are located, most drug matters are heard in Nassau. He voiced concerns for the security of the drug haul in Freeport as there are “big rats that like cheese”.
