Fun Ride Brings Cycling Excitement To Amateur Riders

Ready, Set, Cheer! - BOB Tour of the Bahamas volunteers pictured at last year's event with the Bahamas Junior Cycling team. More than 20 volunteers from Bank of The Bahamas including Managing Director Paul McWeeney (far right) and Deputy Managing Director Vaughn Delaney (far left) turned out to lend support during that event and an even larger BOB field of volunteers is on tap for the 9th Annual Tour of The Bahamas this weekend. For the first time, the Tour will feature the BOB Family Fun Ride set for Saturday, January 28 at 4pm. The 10-mile route begins at Caves Point, travels east to Saunders Beach and returns to Caves Point to finish. On-site registration begins at 3pm. All persons age 13 and older are invited to participate regardless of skill level.

The 9th Annual Tour of the Bahamas features a brand new element this year, the Family Fun Ride to be held Saturday, January 28 in Nassau. Sponsored by BOB, the Family Fun Ride is free and open to all cycling enthusiasts 13 years and older regardless of skill level.

The 10-mile circuit will begin at Caves Point at 4pm, travel east along West Bay Street to Saunders Beach and return to Caves Point.

“Whether you have an older bike you want to dust off and get back on the road or you’re an avid rider, the BOB Family Fun Ride offers a fun and rare opportunity to be a part of the excitement as professional riders whizz by on their route for Tour of the Bahamas,” said Michael Basden, BOB Marketing Manager.

Interested persons can register on-site at Caves Point from 3pm for the event that starts at 4pm. The first 50 cyclists to register receive a free T-shirt and other giveaways.
