Grand Bahama Gets The London Blues

Freeport, Bahamas – Rooster’s is pleased to present The Producers, a Blues band visiting from the Bournemouth, England on Saturday, February 18th, 2012.

Renowned ‘till the mid-90’s as one of Britain’s best blues bands, the band has reformed with two original members (Harry Skinner, vocals/guitar, and Dave Saunders on bass) and two new members (Ray Drury on keyboards and Biff Smith on drums) after a seven-year break. Since reforming they’ve been receiving rave reviews, and are regaining the loyal following which made them so popular previously. New material is continually being written and incorporated into their sets which contains many of their previously recorded tracks.

The band says this about their upcoming trip to The Bahamas, “From the Brook, we leave the sunny climes of Southampton for the cold barren windswept landscape of The Bahamas……oh, sorry, wrong way round!” The band says their influences are early Fleetwood Mac, Bluesbreakers, Rolling Stones, Small Faces et al, and American greats like Howlin Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, BB King and others.

Along with enjoying the sights and warm weather of Grand Bahama, the band will be supporting the Grand Bahama Performing Artists Society while on island and will be donating time to perform for local students.

Originally formed in 1990, The Producers became one of the most popular blues groups in their country winning the Blues Band of the Year award 3 times.
