Yet another teacher is being investigated on claims of sexual abuse and misconduct with underage students. This is the seventh teacher to be accused of sexual misconduct since the Ministry of Education established its Sexual Complaints Unit in 2009.
In a statement released yesterday ministry officials confirmed that a male teacher at an Abaco high school is at the center of this investigation. Reportedly, the teacher engaged in sexual acts with a female student of Haitian descent. The teacher has currently been placed on administrative leave.
Since 2009 there have been several cases of inappropriate sexual behaviour.
