Deliver the Dream will host its second annual “Fishing for the Dream” family fishing tournament June 1-2 at The Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club located in Lighthouse Point.
This year’s tournament sponsors include: Citrix Systems Inc.; City National Bank; Lighthouse Point Saltwater Sportsman Association; Stiles Corporation; Sky Bahamas; and The Chappell Group.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to Deliver the Dream’s Family Retreat Program that helps families who have a child or a parent living with an illness and other life changing medical issues.
“Participants in last year’s fishing tournament enjoyed an action-packed weekend of festivities, and we raised more than $20,000 that directly funded our Family Retreat Program,” said Executive Director, Paul Withrow.
The tournament will kick off June 1 with a Captain’s Party and silent auction from 6-8 p.m. at the Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club. Lines go in on June 2 at 7 a.m. as anglers fish for dolphin, kingfish, wahoo, cobia and tuna.
Prizes include: first, second and third place ($2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively); top male angler; top lady angler; and top pee wee angler.
