Bahamians can brace themselves for a truly festive time in the month of October as more than fifteen international entertainers will take part in the first annual Octoberfest.
The five-day show, organised by Caribbean Aviation and Tom Cruz Productions is slated for October 10th to 14th.
But hold on to your hats folks! The hosts of this year’s shows are none other than BET’s Cita, the host of BET’s Hits from the Street,
Mr. Hits himself, and actor/comedian Steve Harvey.
According to Mr. Nelson Hanna, General Manager, Caribbean Aviation, the show will not only provide world-class entertainment, but contribute to a boost in tourist dollars as an estimated two thousand or more international travelers are expected to attend the various events.
“Whether it’s the hotels, the taxi drivers, or the vendors who will be operating various stalls, this annual event will be beneficial to everyone,” states Mr. Hanna.
From reggae to hip hop, to rap, the organisers of Octoberfest say there will be a variety of entertainment.
The festival, to be transmitted live on several international radio stations will include an entourage of celebrity performers, like Steve Harvey, Nappy Roots, Freddie McGregor, Wyclef Jean, Trina, Trick Daddy, Supercat, Mystikal, Capleton, Elephant man, just to name a few.
The two main highlights of the show will be The Kids day on October 12th, which will feature Lil Romeo, Lil Cory and Lil Tit, followed by the Bikini Bash Sail Away on the 13th.
Already, there is much hype about the event as Mr. Hanna noted his company has been overwhelmed with calls for tickets, particularly from the Bahamian public.
“When people think of Octoberfest, we want them to picture something like Carnival in Trinidad, or Reggae fest in Jamaica,” says Mr. Hanna.
“This is an event that everyone should look forward to,” he boasts.
