Five Star Diamond Awards For Sandals

Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa’s General Manager Stephen Ziadie described the acceptance of two prestigious Five Star Diamond Awards Saturday night from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences as a moment of honour and pride for the resort and its team members.

President of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, Mr. Joseph Cinque explained that it is the only international award program which is governed by internationally recognized trustees, where their function is to identify and nominate potential nominees who merit the international Five Star Diamond Award. “Only the finest in their category classifications are selected and now Sandals and its fine dining French restaurant – Baccarat joins a league of 148 hotel, 650 signature restaurants, 4 airlines and 2 luxury cruise lines that have been chosen,” Mr. Cinque stated.

Some recipients of the Five Star Diamond Award include: The Beverly Hills California, The Hotel Ritz Paris, The Hotel Eden Rome and Beaches Royal Plantation in Jamaica . Mr. Cinque added, “We are pleased to be honouring one of the crown jewels, Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa – a diamond in the hospitality industry. We welcome you into this group of the world’s finest hotel, restaurant and hospitality professionals.”

Mr. Cinque said evaluations are based on outstanding dedication to hospitality, service and attitude. Nominations are voted upon by the Academy’s Board of Trustees. They recommend exceptional organizations in the hospitality industry which are considered to be the best in their respective fields. Only the finest are then recipients of the Five Star Diamond Award.

Sandals’ Food & Beverage Director Lorenzo Barigelli acknowledged that Baccarat’s award was well deserved and said he views it as a stamp of approval for the impeccable food and service that is delivered. “What we offer is a dining experience, our team ensures that every meal is one that is relished and appreciated. Our Executive Chef, Marc Innocenti is artistic and is always pursuing ways to improve what is being offered.” Barigelli cited his department’s hands on approach and attention for detail as components for the accolade.

Sandals’ General Manager Stephen Ziadie indicated that the moment was a cherished one for the resort and a celebrated one for its team members. He commented, “We are truly honoured to be the first resort in the Bahamas to be bestowed with this notable distinction. Our team has always been diligent in delivering the best all around. The best service, the best facility, the best smiles and more importantly – the best hospitality. I am proud and honoured to accept this award on behalf of everyone at Sandals.”
