Police have launched a massive manhunt for an armed robbery and rape gang which has been terrorising the western district of Nassau.
The gang has reportedly raped and robbed eight women since last Thursday evening.
Among the robbery victims are leading Baptist Rev. Timothy Stewart and his wife. He is pastor of Bethell baptist Church on Meeting street. The gang broke into the home of the Stewarts on West Bay Street near the Caves. They tied up the Reverend and his wife before robbing them. Senior police officers are reportedly comparing the rampaging rape-and-rob bandits to the Newbold gang of the early 1990's.
The Newbolds a sister and two brothers, had nassau in a state of fear with a series of violent break-ins, rapes and armed robberies. The Newbolds were caught and convicted. They were jailed up to 15 years.
