A fifth person was charged in connection with Thursday’s lon list of charges, including rape, kidnapping, and armed robbery over the period of a month.
Craig Nigel Higgs, 37, of Soldier Road west, who had been sought by the police last week appeared before Magistrate Misiecwicz in Court 13 Parliament Street.
Higgs, the suspected ringleader, is faced with multiple charges including nine counts of armed robbery and rape, two counts of kidnapping and forcible detention, two counts of receiving and possession of a forged document.
Although his presence stirred no major uproar with the spectators at the court. a large crowd gathered in the vicinity of Bank Lane and Parliament Street, whispering to one another and shaking their heads.
Last Thursday, three men and a woman were charged in connection with the same offences.
