Police Constable Melchoir Ian Francis was granted $10,000 bail after being charged with rape. He was not required to plead to the charge.
As a condition of his bail, he was required to surrender all travel documents and report to the Grove Police Station every Monday and Saturday before 6pm until the commencement of the preliminary inquiry set for June 24. Francis was represented by attorney Godfrey “Pro” Pinder.
If the preliminary inquiry determines that there is sufficient evidence the matter will proceed to the Supreme Court.
