How to take a step toward solving societal problems within troubled or disadvantaged communities was showcased last week. The Prime Minister Perry G Christie opened three, free “Internet In The Community” computer labs for residents at churches in the Farm Road area.
Eighteen fully loaded, working computers with free Bahamas On-Line Internet hook-up are now available thanks to corporate sponsors working in partnership with Police Inspector Stephen Dean and other church and Government members of the Prime Minister’s Farm Road Project Team.
Sponsors who donated computers, software, cabling and labour and expertise are: Systems Resource Group, (SRG) the Internet service provider Bahamas On-line, Sunshine Insurance, Arawak Homes, Solomon’s Mines, Taylor Industries H.G. Christie, Pepsi Bahamas and The Gentlemen of PIXI Chapter Omega PSI KPHI Fraternity Inc.
