Harbour Island Stabbing, Year’s 14th Killing

The country has recorded another killing, this time in the tranquil community of Harbour Island, Eleuthera.

Dead is 34-year-old Archie Curry, a resident of Princess Street.

According to public relations officer Superintendent Hulan Hanna, the killing occurred shortly after 10 a.m., while Mr. Curry was at the Sea View Restaurant on Bay Street. He said Mr. Curry was stabbed in the chest by a 28-year-old woman, believed to be an employee of the establishment.

When asked whether there was an altercation between the two, Supt. Hanna could not say.

“So far, we have not been able to ascertain the motive, but the female is assisting the police with their investigations.”

Mr. Curry’s death has pushed the country’s number of killings this year to 14.

The latest occurred just six days after the death of Spencer Rolle.

Mr. Rolle, 26, a resident of Bethel Avenue was shot and killed shortly after midnight on March 7, while in the area of West Dennis Court, Yellow Elder Gardens.

He was shot in the upper left side of the body.

Damien Bastian, 24, also a resident of Yellow Elder Gardens, was also injured during the incident. He suffered gunshot injuries to the right chest and right arm and is in thePrincess Margaret Hospital.

Police are in search of Darren Davis, of Yellow Elder Gardens, for questioning in connection with the matter.
