Two police officers were charged in Magistrate's court yesterday with accepting a $200 bribe from two illegal Haitian residents, refusing to turn them over to the Detention Centre.
Dwayne Knowles, 25 and Alexander Leroy Rahming, 35 had a late arraignment before Chief Magistrate Vera Watkins. The officers showed no signs of emotion.
Investigators reported that on February 17 the officers solicited and accepted $200 cash from Riviere Lucien and Francois Edner.
The officers are accused of refusing to take them to a lawful place of detention.
