PM Defends His Style Of Governance

Prime Minister Perry Christie vehemently slammed claims that his administration has been “lethargic” in its first year in office.

While a guest on the Island FM radio talk show Parliament Street, Mr. Christie defended his “consultative” style of governance against criticism of being “slow and ineffective”. May 2nd will mark the first anniversary of the PLP victory.

This consultative style has included the appointment of over a dozen sometimes seemingly redundant commissions and special committees.

“When people talk about whether I am effective or ineffective I look at the real problems and wonder what is happening to their heads.”

Mr. Christie also denied claims that nothing had been done since the new government took office, saying that commission members have made tremendous strides.
