The Bahamas Telecommunications Company has been given the green light to install a new mobile system, signalling improved service and an end to the moratorium on cellular subscription.
Bradley Roberts, the minister responsible for BTC, announced the new GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) overlay cellular network yesterday.
He said the new network, in its first phase, will allow BTC to lift the moratorium placed on cellular subscription in January and will cover New Providence and Grand Bahama.
