The grandson and neighbour of an elderly woman, who died hours after being arrested for questioning then released, want police to “show a whole lot more respect” for senior citizens.
The Windsor Lane community believe Charitable Prphet, 78, died of severe trauma on Sunday. They claim that police “burst into her home and carted her off with handcuffs” Saturday night.
“We need to know what happened with this old woman,” an angry neighbour told The Tribune yesterday. “It wasn’t right to take an old grandmother and handcuff her and put her in a police car like a ol’ criminal.”
