The Bahamas’ fiscal and tariff policies radically differentiate it from Caribean and global trading partners, and limit its ability to withstand changes in trading patterns, the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce’s executive director, told The Tribune yesterday.
In an interview withThe Tribune, Philip Simon, said one of the greatest challenges facing The Bahamas in the free trade era was altering the mindset of its people. For any trade initiative to be successful, industry participants, consumers and public and private sector operators had to change the way business is being done.
