Florida Man Attacked By Shark In Bahamas

Benjamin Brown, an attorney from Juno Beach, was diving during a family holiday outing off Walker’s Cay on Friday when a bull shark bit him twice on the left leg.

Brown’s family aboard their boat was scared, but nobody panicked. With a tourniquet tied to his leg, they rushed to shore, a 15-minute trip.

Luckily, a good Samaritan with a private plane volunteered to take Brown to Palm Beach International Airport. From there, Brown was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

At St. Mary’s, he underwent four hours of surgery Friday to repair the damage. He suffered some nerve damage and will require further surgery this week.
