“What this visit [by Barbadian Prime Minister Owen Arthur] has done is sort of laid a basis for further consultation with the people of the Bahamas and obviously with the CARICOM itself,” he said.
“This is something I think [Mr. Arthur] has just indicated will lead to his even having to come back to say now, what steps are we now to take to make the Bahamas CSME ready.
“So there is a clear understanding based on all that we have seen and heard and discussed, that we are now involved in a process of educating our people, educating ourselves, with a view to being able to to ensure that when we move in, it is done in a way compatible with the national interest of our country and the overall objectives and intention of CSME.”
