Senior vice president of BTC, Leon Williams, told The Guardian on June 16 that the delayed implementation of the $28 million GSM system to correct this problem was expected to come on stream in early October. He also said the new system was scheduled to be installed on Dec. 16, 2002, but had to be postponed to allow further manufacturing and updating of equipment.
