Jay Michaels…Charting A Course For The Bahamas

Jay Michaels is back in the Bahamas!

Jay Michaels, the radio/tv host from Miami who befriended the Bahamas back in the 1980’s was seen here in Nassau recently as it is understood that he is looking to make the Bahamas his, “home.”

After years of speaking of his love for the Bahamas to his American audiences he decided it was time to enjoy the quality of life he has always experienced here and embrace it fully.

Word has it that Mr. Michaels was on Harbour Island and in Abaco as well and has some serious interest in acquiring a small resort. His intent is to develop a truly first class, five-star destination for those who don’t want the “glitz” but just want a getaway where they will be pampered and treated like royalty!

During his many shows in Miami, that put the spotlight on Bahamian Tourism, he learned more about the Family Islands and the growth and opportunity there. He feels the family islands are just the perfect spot to create the kind of intimate vacation destination to a select clientele and to locals as well.

He had also met with Martin Albury, an old time friend at ZNS to discuss the possibilities about doing some sort of program with the Bahamas Broadcasting Corporation or consulting with them on various programs.

We understand that he spent several days with his dear friend Enrico Garzaroli at Graycliff who has been very supportive of Mr. Michaels and his dreams of development in the Bahamas. Mr. Garzaroli feels that with Jay’s personality and his heartfelt feeling for the Bahamas that he is sure to succeed in this project.

Jay also met with Minister of Works, Bradley Roberts and General Minister of Tourism, Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace who give Jay their full support in seeing this dream become a reality.

His other long time friend, Pat Paul, who has been discussing some projects with Mr. Michaels as well, feels that Jay would be not only successful in this endeavor but would be a great asset as well through his vast network of contacts and through the media.

Although, Jay Michaels is not an icon who can bring as many jobs or tourists as say a Sun International however he brings the same vision that companies of a much larger scale share.

That vision is to introduce people to the Bahamas and truly let them experience it as the top vacation destination in the world!

Jay recently also featured the top 10 restaurants in New Providence/Paradise Island and the following is a link to the article:
