The badly decomposed body of a woman was found Saturday morning in an unfinished building on McKenzie Street, west of the Lucayan Medical centre in Freeport. While police are still awaiting positive identification of the body, a mother of four who disappeared a few weeks ago is still unaccounted for.
Acting Chief Supt Hulan Hanna said the woman’s naked body was found, hands and feet bound, lying on the floor of the western section of a shopping complex under construction on McKenzie Street and Adventurer’s Way.
Foul play is suspected in the woman’s death, which would be the island’s 15th murder for the year.
According to police reports, at about 8:20am Saturday an unidentified man telephoned the police Control Room to report the discovery.
He told police that while walking he smelled a strong odour coming from a building in the area, west of the Lucayan Medical Centre. On checking the building he discovered the body.
