Potential Visitors Must Be Told Of Industrial Unrest

FNM leader Tommy Turnquest said industrial unrest in the hotel sector and a possible BEC blackout over the festive season were cause for “tremendous concern” for Bahamians.

Mr. Turnquest, speaking at a special press briefing at his house, said any industrial unrest would have an untold impact on the economy of the Bahamas, “particularly at this busy winter season now approaching us.”

He said the Ministry of Tourism and hotels must advise travel agents and potential visitors that there is looming industrial unrest.

Travellers had to be made aware, they made bookings, that this was happening. Travellers would recognise there would be a decline in usual service standards and might want to make other plans.
