A writ has been filed in the Supreme Court by Colina Insurance Company Ltd and Colina Financial Group Ltd, which are claiming damages and aggravated damages.
They are also seeking an injunction restraining Jones Communications Ltd., Communicators and Associates Ltd and proprietor Wendell Jones from making further “defamatory” comments.
The defendants have the statutory two weeks to respond to the action or pay a sum into court to stay proceedings.
Colina claims that an “investigation” by the Journal had brought the company into “public scandal, odium and contempt” and injured its reputation and business.
