$100 Million Drug Bust

US authorities say the arrests and seizure of the drugs is one of the “most significant drug busts made in recent years”.

Bahamians Nigel Gray, Tiko Small, Santero Whylly, Davero Rolle and Nemo Cooper, and Carlos Diaz, a Puerto-Rican man with a Broward County address in Florida were charged with carrying the one-ton load on two 25 foot boats into US waters.

Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent, Joe Kilmer, speaking with The Tribune yesterday said that information about the shipment was gained by the DEA Miami office and corroborated by the DEA office in Freeport which works with the bahamas Drug Enforcement Unit.

Both had information that a large quantity of cocaine was to be leaving thePort Lucaya area en route to Broward County.
