US Airways, Bahamasair In Code-Sharing Pact

US Airways Group Inc. said Monday it has entered a new code-sharing agreement with Bahamasair, the national flag carrier of the Bahamas.

US Airways said the deal covers code sharing on daily flights between the United States and the Bahamas, as well as intra-Bahamian flights.

The deal will also allow US Airways customers to build up and redeem their frequent-flyer miles on Bahamasair.

Under the agreement, US Airways customers will have access to Governors Harbour, George Town and Treasure Cay, as well as additional flights to North Eleuthera, Marsh Harbour, and Grand Bahama Island via connections in Nassau.

Bahamasair customers will get access from both Grand Bahama Island and Nassau to United States destinations including Charlotte, N.C., New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Philadelphia.

They will also get access to Boston and Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C., from Nassau.

Codeshare flights are available for purchase immediately, for travel and Dividend Miles benefits beginning Sept. 15, 2004.
