The College of The Bahamas is coming under renewed pressure to review the appointment of new $120,000-a-year president Dr. Rodney Smith.
College council chairman Franklyn Wilson has been accused of “exaggeration” when he said Dr. Smith was engaged after “exhaustive” research into his background.
The Action Group of the FNM, a 30-strong organisation of party activists wants Mr. Wilson to say if a 220-page legal document filed in the New Jersey Supreme Court last year was part of his exhaustive inquiries.
Last night, a group spokesman said implementation of Dr. Smith’s appointment should be deferred until the council was satisfied that its research was complete.
