Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace, the Ministry of Tourism’s director-general, has been identified as a candidate for the post of secretary-general at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), The Tribune has learned. However, Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe said he intends to hold onto his team, widely viewed as one of the best in the region.
Mr. Wilchcombe said the director-general, considered by mnay – not only in the region but the wider tourism industry – to be a visionary and an innovative leader, was being sought by the CTO’s Search Committee to fill the post, expected to be made vacant following the retirement of current secretary-general Jean Holder, at the end of the year.
