Residents Stand Firm Against Bahamas Development Company

The Harrold Road Land Development Company (LANDCO) is a non-existing entity and as such has no legal claim to land in that area, according to the steering committee formed by the residents after they received letters saying that the company owns the land their homes are on.

Residents of Bozine Town, Knowles Drive and Harrold Road met again at the Lakeview Church of God of Prophecy yesterday to discuss their course of action less than a week after they received a letter from the law firm of Lockhart, Munroe and Co. The firm said that it represented LANDCO.

Residents were given 14 days to respond to LANDCO’s invitation to purchase the land.

The residents say they have no intention of repurchasing land that has been in their families for decades and to which they maintain they have legal claim.
