Police have no explanation for the death of an elderly man found in his Monteal Heights home with a laceration to his leg and lying in a pool of blood.
According to Supt. Hulan Hanna, the death of the 87-year-old Jeremiah Knowles has been classified as “suspicious”.
Police went to Mr. Knowles’ home shortly after 5pm yesterday after being alerted by a neighbour. Last night Mr. Hanna said theat the initial investigation did not suggest any criminal activity.
He said there was no sign of a struggle, or forced entry in the home, which is why the death is classified as “suspicious”. He said this is a normal classification when the death cannot be explained.
