Bank of Bahamas Shares Begin Trading On The BISX

Shares in the Bank of Bahamas Limited yesterday began trading on the Bahamas International Stock Exchange, taking the total of listed issuers trading on the BISX to 19.

The BISX Listing Committee has approved the listing of 12 million Bank of Bahamas Ordinary shares, which began trading yesterday morning at an initial launch price of $6.00.

Welcoming the listing of the Bank,which will trade under the symbol ‘BOB’, the Chief Executive Officer of the BISX, Keith Davies commented: モOne of the primary goals of BISX is to formalize the entire domestic capital market, and with the listing of Bank of The Bahamas, we have taken another positive step in that direction.メ

Mr Davies continued: モI am very happy for the shareholders and potential investors in Bank of The Bahamas, because they now have a single market where they can trade their shares using a fair and transparent rule based system.”

The market capitalisation of the 19 listed firms on the BISX now totals just over $2 billion.
