Police reported that shortly after 8:30 a.m. a four-car collision occurred on Coral Road, some 300 yards south of the Chill Zone restaurant and bar, involving a 1995 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by Pauline Sands; a white, 1996 Chevy S-10, driven by Nuvolari Bethel; a blue, 2001 Suzuki Baleno. driven by Viola Maycock; and a white, 1995 GMC Safari, driven by Saintilus Souffrant.
Sands, Bethel and Maycock were all travelling south along Coral Road when the line of traffic came to a stop. Souffrant, also travelling south, came from behind and crashed into Ms. Maycock’s vehicle causing a chain reaction collision.
Ms. Maycock and her passenger, 11-year-old Corey Bullard, sustained injuries and were transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where they were treated and later discharged.
All four vehicles received damage as a result of the collision.
Police reports state that driving without due care and attention appeared to be the cause of the accident.
