A freak accident at the production site of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean II and III” sequels, located at Gold Rock Creek in East Grand Bahama, resulted in a movie stuntman being detained at the Rand Memorial Hospital with some serious injuries to his facial area.
Police say Thomas Lee Dupont, 35, of Valencia, California, was participating in the filming of a scene inside the huge collier tank, when the force of waves created in the tank, slammed him head first into a cannon that was a part of the set.
Mr. Dupont was knocked unconscious by the impact and sustained very serious injuries to his face. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he received emergency medical treatment, before being airlifted in serious condition to a Florida-based hospital.
