The conference, which is being held in Grand Bahama until May 3, is being hosted at Westin & Sheraton at Our Lucaya Resort in Grand Bahama.
The conference is expected to result in high-volume business for The Bahamas, according to a press statement from The Ministry of Tourism in Grand Bahama.
Organizers say ITPC's unique, intimate structure allows high-quality one-on-one meetings between suppliers of tourism products and facilities and the buyers, allowing the parties to discuss in-depth details of future business and partnerships.
Terrance Roberts, director of business development for the Ministry of Tourism in Grand Bahama said, "ITPC is quite distinct from the many other conferences and trade shows you would find in the travel industry."
"Only a select group of travel buyers and suppliers attend the event, giving them a chance to build new relationships and strengthen old ones," Mr. Roberts said.
Individuals and companies attend ITPC on an invitation-only basis allowing for "only the highest-caliber suppliers and buyers".
Mr. Roberts said international registration has been conducted for the conference from strategic offices in North America and Europe.
Master Classes have been arranged that organizers expect will strengthen the skill and increase the knowledge of industry professionals.
Topics to be covered include Power Branding, Crisis Communications, and Information Management Technology.
Information Management Technology will cover the value of quantitative data gleaned from Bahamas immigration cards and their impact on smart marketing decisions.
The Power Branding class will use The Islands of the Bahamas' brand identity as a case study.
Under the topic, Crisis Communications, delegates will examine case studies of emergency response and relief in a major catastrophe.
The topic will also cover how to deal with the outbreak of localized food poisoning at a property and how to contain crime and its potential impact on tourist arrivals.
