The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Housing has announced a new housing development for the construction of 50 houses at Perpall Tract, located in North Central New Providence, southward from Arawak Cay and Ardastra Gardens.
The Ministry began preliminary works on the acreage in early December 2005, including the initial clearing of the property for the surveying of the proposed site.
Earlier, the initial concerns of residents in the area prompted the Ministry to halt all works on the project. However, after consultation and liaising with the proper authorities on the proposed usage of land, the Ministry, residents and their parliamentary representative are satisfied that the sub-division is being developed in the best interest of the area.
On January 18th, 2006, a Cabinet appointed committee comprised of representatives form the Water and Sewage Corporation, Department of Housing, department of Physical Planning and the BEST commission conducted a site visit to Perpall Tract. The committee discussed technical concerns and matters to be considered by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Housing.
